A birthday at home with a karaoke machine is the easiest party to organize and the one guests remember longest. No hall to rent, no last call, and everyone ends up singing, including the people who swore they would not. Here is how it works in Quebec City with Location Karaoké Québec, from a Charlesbourg basement to a chalet in Lac-Beauport.
Living room, basement, backyard, condo or chalet
The Home Superstar package is built for private households and recommended for up to 20 guests. It comes with 67,000+ songs, a speaker, two microphones and a basic party light, and it plugs into your own TV. A few details change depending on where the party is:
- The living room: the most common setup. The TV is already there, the speaker sits beside it and the singers stay in front of the screen. Push the couch back and you have a stage.
- The finished basement: in Charlesbourg, Beauport or L'Ancienne-Lorette, this is the classic spot for a 40th or a 50th. The sound stays downstairs, kids can sleep upstairs and the neighbours hear a lot less.
- The backyard: in Saint-Augustin or Cap-Rouge, summer birthdays move outside under the gazebo or a covered deck. You need a covered spot, an outlet within reach and dry weather, because the equipment cannot sit in the rain. Have an indoor plan B.
- The condo: in Sainte-Foy or Saint-Roch, Home Superstar works well inside your unit. If you are renting the building's party room instead, you want an Event package, which brings its own screen and is meant for shared party rooms.
- The chalet: in Stoneham, Lac-Beauport or Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, the machine plugs into the chalet TV and runs on Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot. Use the notes to tell us if the road is private or not plowed.
The TV hookup, Wi-Fi and the volume question
The machine connects to your TV, with cables and adapters included. It needs one or two electrical outlets and a Wi-Fi connection. Your home Wi-Fi is enough, and at a chalet a phone hotspot does the job. Between songs you can play your own music from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube.
Volume deserves a thought, especially in town. In a Limoilou apartment or a semi-detached in Sillery, give the neighbours a few days' notice, or invite them. A speaker placed away from the shared wall and a reasonable volume after 10 pm settle most situations. In a basement or at a chalet, the question barely comes up.
In a condo, book the elevator or the freight elevator for the delivery window if your building requires it, and check the building rules for quiet hours and party-room use. Put the unit number, the entry code and the security desk in the booking notes.
Kids, adults and the timing of the night
For a kids' party, karaoke fills an hour or two in the afternoon, right after the cake, and the catalogue has plenty for every age. For an adult birthday, karaoke really starts after dinner, once everyone has loosened up. Mixed parties work too: the kids sing first and the adults take over once the little ones are in bed.
Every guest searches for songs and queues them from their own phone. No experience needed, and no host either. The queue runs itself, and the birthday person can reserve the right to jump the line. The catalogue is mostly French and English, with Québécois classics, popular French songs and the big English hits, plus Spanish, Italian, Korean and other languages for families who speak more than one.

What the driver does
You pick a morning (10 am to 1 pm) or afternoon (1 pm to 5 pm) delivery window, and the driver confirms the exact time the week of the party. On site, they set up the machine, connect it to your TV, run the sound test and show you how to search for a song and add it to the queue. It takes a few minutes, and you configure nothing yourself.
After the party, the driver comes back for the equipment at the arranged time, usually the next day. Phone support is available during the rental, and if a problem cannot be fixed remotely, a replacement is sent out. In winter, keep the entrance and the parking cleared; that is the only thing we ask.
Booking for an address in Quebec City or nearby
Delivery fees start at $29 and depend on driving time from our Quebec City base. The zone reaches roughly 45 minutes from downtown on both sides of the river, from Lévis to Pont-Rouge and from Boischatel to Stoneham. The full list of areas is on the delivery areas page. If the address is outside the zone, request a quote or arrange to pick up the equipment.
